It's A Mistake
To Define Ourselves
By Our Mistakes
Anybody out there sometimes feel like they’re no better than their latest mistake?
If so,
you’re not alone.
Lots of us do.
Why is it that we can accomplish so much,
but when we screw up that’s what our mind focuses on?
We seem to completely forget all of the things we’ve done right and well and become consumed with our error.
We start to see ourselves as our mistake.
None of us are defined by the mistakes we’ve made.
Period.
We’re defined by how we respond to them after they’ve happened.
Do we make amends (if necessary),
learn,
change our course of action and move forward?
Or do we wallow in self-pity and condemn ourselves as being no better than our error?
Remember this the next time you mess up:
you aren’t the mistakes you’ve made.
You’re so much more.
Embrace the opportunity to discover something new,
and take another step towards a better version of yourself.
